These are companies backed by named venture and growth funds (plus a few accelerators and corporate venture arms). The source for each company is the fund's own portfolio page, linked on every row. The B2B or consumer tag is read automatically from the company's own homepage; on a hand-check of random samples it was right about 91% of the time for B2B (41 of 45) and 33 of 35 for consumer, and “unknown” means the homepage gave too little to go on. Tier is the best tier among a company's named funds, using the published fund tiers (editorial, not a performance rating). Inclusion is not a ranking: ranked companies are in the sector rankings. Companies whose homepage is dead are left out.
